About
The family-owned and run Whirlwind Olives estate is a working 40hectare property, complete with Mitch the red kelpie, 12 Hiline hens and 60 Wiltshire Horn sheep.
Proprietors Imre and Sue Mencshelyi established the business in 2002. Since Imre’s retirement in 2009 from the CBH group where he was CEO for 15 years, he and wife Sue have made the farm their full-time occupation.
Whirlwind Olives estate is home to around 2,500 trees for oil production, 500 Kalamata trees and 50 young macadamias.
A labour of love, Imre says he wants to make locally produced, good quality extra virgin olive oil available to people across WA and beyond, in bulk and at a good price.
“Anyone who tastes our oil makes comment on the delicious flavours – simple and natural,” says Imre.
“Our oil is the best of all worlds: affordable, top quality, available in the volume you desire. And you will enjoy it.
“This is our vision. To enjoy our farm, and to ensure our customers share in its bounty. Corny, but true.”
